#330 The After-Storm

Old mother nature has a way of explaining to a person how mighty she is. I remember when I was young, I used to admire an old oak tree that grew in our back pasture. One evening a small thunder storm came through and I heard a loud crack sound back there. After the storm passed through, I set out to find if it had done any damage. To my great astonishment, that giant oak tree was almost cut in half from a lightning strike. Boy, I'm glad my old cows was in the front pasture, because you can believe if they would have been under that very oak tree, which was their favorite shade tree.
