#344 Where Have You Been?

Sometimes just a simple ride can be exciting, when you're young and born in a poor farm family which owns only one second-hand pickup truck with doors that halfway fasten. One day Dad and I was headed down an Old curving gravel road with that truck throttle wide open (40MPH). Dad was driving and just talking to beat the band, and I just a listening as I sat shot-gunner with one arm hanging on that old rickety door. About that time Dad flew around one of those 90º curves. As he did, out swung my door, with me hanging on for dear life! Then the road straighten out and so did the truck, and the door slam shut with me, placing me back into my original position. Dad's conversation never missed a beat, except for a few added words, "Where have you been Boy?".
