When
you are born in a poor family, pride has to be slightly modified. Especially
when it comes the time of accepting hand-me-down clothes. Mother said to think
of them as having "character". You didn't even have to break them in
because they had all the rough spots already ironed-out. And, if you just
happened to snag one getting over a barbed wire fence, no big deal. One thing
for sure, by having to accept hand-me-downs those Christmas mornings when I
would find a brand-spanking new pair of blue-jeans, I was in Hog Heaven. One of
the greatest pleasures of Life is True Appreciation.
