This is one of many of my Dad's pet sayings. It was sang quite often
because we often would gather out under the old Oak trees and make the best
home-made Ice Cream a man could ask for. Many church family socials were held at
our old Home-Site. All the ladies would gather in the kitchen and whip up the
ingredients and we men would gather out under the trees and crank the ice-cream
mixer. One of us would have to sit on the mixer to keep it from moving while
another would turn the crank. Boy! I would hate when it came my time to sit on
the mixer because I was little and skinny and had very little paddin on my rear.
The big fight would come when the crank became hard and the ice-cream was ready.
The one who got to pull the paddle out of the ice-cream could eat all the
ice-cream that stuck to it. Nothing taste better than Home-made Ice-Cream.
